Marietta Minotou

Marietta Minotos teaches in the Department of Archives, Library Science and Museology at the Ionian University, while in 2005 she was elected to the rank of Lecturer. In the year 2009 she was elected  Director of the Central Service of the General State Archives of Greece in which she served until May 2019. During the period 1991-2008, she was the Head of the Historical Archive of the “Konstantinos G. Karamanlis Foundation”. She is a member of the Administrative Council of the Historical and Ethnological Society of Greece. She combines an academic career with active participation in the national and international archives’ and cultural’ organizations. From 2000 she is an active member of the International Council of Archives (ICA). From 2004 until 2008 she served as Vice-President of the Section for Archives of Parliaments and Political Parties (SPP), which operates in the context of the International Council on Archives (ICA). During the scientific works of the XIVth Congress of the ICA held in Kuala Lumpur in July 2008 the General Assembly elected her as President of SPP for the term 2008-2012. She was also an active member of the Executive Board of the International Council of Archives (ICA) for 2008 - 2012. For all the above international activities, in 2015, she was awarded with the prestigious distinction of “Chevalier de l’ ordre des Arts et des Lettres” by the Ministry of Culture and Communication of France.
