The 4th International Conference on Museum Big Data (MBD2026) will take place in Sofia, Bulgaria, 12-14 November 2026, with the Ionian University and the Museology Research Laboratory participating in its organisation, in collaboration with the Bulgrarian Academy of Sciences, Institute of Mathematics and Informatics. MBD2026 brings together museum studies, cultural heritage, digital technologies, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence. Submissions remain open for a few more days for both short (4-page) and long (12-page) papers. Participation can be onsite or online. The Information Technology Laboratory, Ionian University, is participating in the organization of the international online event titled “Co‑Creating the Future of Digital Competencies in Nursing Education (DigiCONS),” which will take place on Thursday, June 25, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The Ionian University is organizing Research Day on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, with the aim of promoting and disseminating the research activity that has been carried out or is currently underway at the Institution to the public.

The 2025 edition of CEPE—Computer Ethics: Philosophical Enquiries was held from 24 to 26 September at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, gathering an international community of scholars and practitioners to reflect on one of the most pressing issues of our time: the ethical, normative, and philosophical challenges posed by artificial intelligence. Hosted by the Department of History, Cultural Heritage, Education and Society in collaboration with INSEIT, IHRC (DALMS, Ionian University), and the University for Peace, CEPE 2025 stood out both for the quality of its contributions and for its strong interdisciplinary character.

The International Conference “By the Book10” on the Publishing Industry and the Book, titles “Divergence and Convergence in Publishing Today”, was successfully held on June 25 and 26, 2025, at the Ionian University. The By the Book10 Conference was organized by the Department of Archives, Library Science and Museology, along with the “Information Technologies Laboratory” (director: Professor Petros Kostagiolas), and was held under the auspices of the European Publishing Studies Association (EuroPub).

Ionian University participates for the fourth consecutive year in International Fair of Thessaloniki, which will take place from Saturday 7 to Sunday 15 September 2024 (TIF - Helexpo, Egnatia 154, Thessaloniki).
