Dionysios Moschopoulos was born in Athens in 1956. He holds a Ph.D and a MSc in History from Pantheon-Sorbonne University (Paris), a BSc in Law and a Bsc in Political Science from Athens University. During the period 1995-2007 he worked initially as Lecturer and afterwards as Assistant Professor in the Department of Archives and Library Science at the Ionian University (Corfu-Greece). He has taught in postgraduate studies programs in the Ionian University and the University of Thessaly. He has also worked as part-time member of the academic staff of the Greek Open University, and the Open University of Cyprus. He has collaborated in various European funded and national research projects. He is also member of the Group of History of Administration Science. He has published papers on the history of public administration and the institutions of the Neo-Hellenic State, the medical history of the Ionian islands, the political prisoners of the Greek civil war (1946-1949), the history of education, the administrative information etc. Since July 2012 he has been back on duties as tenured Assistant Professor in the Department of Archives and Library Sciences of the Ionian University. He teaches “History of the Neo-Hellenic State and its Institutions”. His recent research revolves around the history of the oath of office and the phenomenon of the political violence in the Greek State.
