Michail Agathos holds a PhD from the Department of Archives, Library Science and Museology at the Ionian University. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Information Science (specialization: “Information Services in Digital Environments”) from the same department. He is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department, with research focusing on knowledge representation and knowledge modelling of elements of intangible cultural heritage, with particular emphasis on the semantic documentation and conceptual modelling of cultural heritage information.
His research focuses on the study and application of conceptual models and metadata standards for the documentation, management, and interoperability of cultural heritage information. His research interests include metadata, cultural heritage metadata standards, conceptual models, interoperability of information systems, knowledge management, the Semantic Web, and the documentation of intangible cultural heritage.
In his research and professional activities, he works on the application of semantic documentation methods and knowledge modelling approaches in cultural heritage institutions, contributing to the development of documentation systems, digital management infrastructures, and the interpretation and dissemination of cultural heritage assets.
