Sofia Vlachou

Dr. Sofia Vlachou graduated with distinction from the School of Information Science and Informatics at Ionian University. In 2017, she obtained an MSc in “Cultural Heritage Management and New Technologies” from the same institution. She completed her PhD thesis entitled “Studying the Influence and Popularity of Works of Art through Data Analysis Methods” at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts, School of Music and Audiovisual Arts, Ionian University, graduating with honors. She has participated in research projects and serves as a member of the organizing committee of the annual DCAC conference organized by the Department of Audio and Visual Arts. She also collaborates in research activities with the University of Sfax  (Tunisia). Her research work has been published in international scientific journals and conference proceedings. Her research interests include artificial intelligence, machine learning, cultural data analytics, and aesthetic experience. She has teaching experience as Assistant Academic Staff at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts, Ionian University. In addition, she has also taught as Adjunct Lecturer at the Department of Tourism, delivering courses in “New Technology Services in Tourism” and “Economics and Market Analysis.” She has received scholarships and excellence awards from the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY), Ionian University, and was awarded first prize in an artistic competition by the Hellenic Parliament Foundation.
