Lekakis Stelios

Stelios Lekakis studied Classical Archaeology and Heritage Management at the University of Athens and University College London. He worked as a field archaeologist and briefly at the Greek Ministry of Culture, serving in the Acropolis Restoration Service and the Directorate for the Management of the National Archive of Monuments. He later joined the Centre for Landscape at Newcastle University as a Principal Research Associate, focusing on landscape heritage. He has taught cultural heritage management and political economy at the Hellenic Open University and the Open University of Cyprus. As a cultural heritage consultant, he collaborates with NGOs—he is a founding member of MONUMENTA—and academic institutions on participatory management and cultural informatics projects. His publications explore islandscapes, heritage politics, archaeology, and the commons in heritage management. Stelios is also the creative director of Mazomos Landscape and Heritage Consultants. In his spare time, he writes for the theatre and seeks out the scattered, small secrets of existence.
