Kokkonas Ioannis

Born in Kastri of Northern Kynouria (1956), he studied classical literature at the University of Athens (1974-1978) and then he entered into the study of Historical Bibliography. Other research interests:  History of the Greek national movement and of the Greek War of Independence, ideological conflicts concerning Modern Greek language during the period of the Enlightenment, public education in the early years of the Greek state. He has been working for two decades as a high school teacher in Greece and in Germany (1982-2002), and since 2003 he has been a professor of Historical Bibliography in the Department of Archives, Library Science and Museology, Ionian University.
