The book by Dr Konstantinos D. Politis, a Post-Doctoral scholar at the Ionian University, presents the archaeological work of two decades, under his direction with the participation of Dr Georgios Papaioannou, Associate Professor in the Department of Archives, Library Science and Museology of the Ionian University, at biblical Zoara located at modern Ghor as-Safi in Jordan, the lowest place on the earth's surface.
Volume I has just been released by Routledge publishers in London. It includes discoveries of human activity during 12,000 years, conclusions of archaeological research, conservation and restoration work, as well as cultural management, museum exhibition and tourist development of the region.
Alexandra Ariotti, Eliot Braun, Penelope Edwell, R. Neil Munro, Georgios A. Papaioannou, Adamantios Samson and Josephine Verduci contributed to this publication. Volume II, focusing on material finds of the project, will follow in early 2021, while Volume III will complete the series in 2023 as part of the author's postdoctoral research at the Ionian University.
