Research Projects

Research constitutes the main priority of the Museology Research Laboratory of the Ionian University (MRL-IU).

Research Axes

MRL-IU follows two research axes:

  • The development of new and innovative approaches in theoretical and applied levels through fruitful interdisciplinary dialogue.
  • The development and incorporation of the New / Digital Information and Communication Technologies.

Those strategic choices, combined with its cooperative philosophy, encourage initiatives and creativity, and create the ideal academic environment for innovation. In the same cooperative and interdisciplinary spirit, the Laboratory develops collaborations and synergies with other research and scientific institutions and bodies at local, national and international levels.

Projects

Based on the acquired experience and its recruiting policy, the Laboratory has accumulated the competent technical expertise required in order to undertake complex and demanding research projects. Our research projects range from purely scientific research projects aiming at developing innovative approaches and answers to modern issues, to studies assigned by various bodies and institutions for the creation, renovation, preservation, management and development of museum spaces and collections, as well as to studies on managing and promoting heritage assets.

Publications

Devoted to the constant quest for innovation and improvement, MRL-IU encourages excellence and supports participation in international conferences, contributions to international scientific journals, book chapters, books and monographs.
