Research constitutes the natural priority of the Laboratory, and deploys in a range of directions, combining its subjects with the individual research interests of its associates. It is deployed on two axes:

• The development of new and innovative approaches in theoretical and applied levels, through a fruitful interdisciplinary dialogue.
• The development and incorporation of the New Technologies in its research fields.

Those strategic choices, combined with its cooperative philosophy which encourages initiative and creativity, create the ideal academic environment for innovation. In the same cooperative and interdisciplinary spirit, the Laboratory develops collaborations and synergies with other research and scientific institutions and bodies, in local, national and international level.

Moreover, based on the acquired experience and the recruiting policy, the Laboratory has accumulated the competent technical expertise required in order to undertake complex and demanding research projects.

The research projects the Laboratory undertakes, range from purely scientific research projects aiming at developing innovative approaches and answers to modern issues, to studies assigned by various bodies and institutions for the foundation of museums and reservation of assets, to studies on the management and promotion of heritage assets in spatial level.
